Ekomark © Certification Approval Phase

When the application requests of companies wishing to put Ekomark © Tag on their products and services are received, a contract is signed with a company first. This agreement is intended to explain the terms of service provided by our organization and the responsibilities and obligations of both parties. With the signing of the contract Ekomark © certification In this context, it first requests documents, statements, test results and similar information from the company proving that the products or services meet the Eco-Label criteria. In addition, it prepares a technical file and sends it to the certification committee for evaluation. The committee is responsible for providing the necessary technical support during the application process. In order to provide this support, the Environmental Management System and Ecological Label committee has been established within the body of the certification body, depending on the Environmental Impact Assessment.

ECO Label™ must complete the evaluation work within three months. If a deficiency or non-compliance is detected within this period, the company is notified and they are requested to be completed within six months. The company must complete all deficiencies and correct nonconformities within this period. If this period is exceeded, the application will be invalid and the certification process will stop. In this case, the company has to restart the process later.

Launched by ECO Label Eco-Label Thanks to the ecological label application, consumers can easily access greener products and services that take care of nature. Documented by our organization and Ekomark © Tag It can be for any product or service other than food, beverage, pharmaceutical and medical products. The number of products and services licensed by ECO Label™ in a short time has exceeded one thousand and this number is constantly increasing. On the one hand, revisions are made in product groups depending on changing technologies, methods and innovations.

In this respect, if the criteria for the products and services bearing the Ekomark © Label have been updated by the European Union, these products and services must also comply with the new criteria within the 12 month. That is, the duration of the existing permits is extended to the end of this transition period. Nevertheless, manufacturers can use the Ekomark © Tag for a further six months after the transition of the products produced in accordance with the previous criteria has ended. Therefore, the validity period of the permission on the document is 12 months after the date the criteria were changed.

When developing criteria for products and services, ECO Label™ focuses on the stage at which these products and services have the most environmental impact. This naturally varies from product to product. For example, if we take a look at textile products, environmental impacts are high when these products are dyed, bleached or printed in factories. For this reason, while determining the criteria for the textile product group, the experts aimed to reduce the harmful effects during production as much as possible. In addition, electronic products create a high environmental risk during their use. While determining the criteria in this product group, the energy consumption of these products is focused.
