The product groups which are the basis of the Ekomark © Label application are determined by the European Union. Product groups should generally meet the following conditions:
- Its product must represent a serious trade and sales volume in the national market.
- The products must have an impact on the environment, at least regionally or globally, in the life cycle of products, ie at least one of the stages of production, use and waste.
- The products must meet the criteria for the Ekomark © Label and the introduction of these products to the market should be encouraging for both consumer choices and manufacturers.
- A significant portion of the sales volume of products must be taking place for the end user.
Ekomark © Standard Ekomark © Label cannot be given to the products which are produced with processes that are very harmful, which create danger for the environment, that have cancer effect, that carry risks to human health and that will seriously harm the environment.
